District Institute of Education and Training, Hapur was established in March 1988. It was initially the DIET of Ghaziabad district but since 28 September 2011, it has been working as the DIET of Ghaziabad and Hapur. The DIET of Hapur has 7 departments and a separate DIET for Ghaziabad is under construction.

DIET Hapur provides a two-year D.el.ed course, in-service training, and academic support to the teachers of all 427 primary and 206 upper primary schools of Hapur district and all 398 primary and 195 upper primary schools of Ghaziabad district. DIET Hapur also provides academic support to 13 private D.EI.Ed colleges of Hapur district and 27 colleges of Ghaziabad district.
